Jackelyn first came to Uganda in September of 2014 with a team from her church, Generational Hope Christian Center in Maple Valley, Washington where she was active in children’s ministry, New Heart Healing and Recovery, and helping in the church office.
For about a year and a half before coming she kept hearing God say he was sending her to Africa, and she was sure he had the wrong lady. She felt she had no skills or training, nothing that she could offer to either the missionaries or the nationals. Perhaps that is how Moses felt when God told him He was sending him back to Egypt to deliver the Hebrew people. Every time she asked God why he wanted her to go to Uganda, He told her it was all about building relationship.
While she was in Uganda in 2014, she felt compelled to come back. She talked to Pastor Scott and Brenda and had the opportunity to come back for a year. In January 2015 she came back, unsure of where God would use her but knowing she was supposed to be here. She spent her first year getting to know various parts of WOMF’s ministries in Uganda, South Sudan, and Kenya.
Since she has been here, she has taken on the role of Fundraising Coordinator, helping with WOMF’s social media outlets, and working with the vulnerable women’s programs in Uganda. She considers herself extremely blessed to serve with and learn from Pastor Scott and Brenda. Her primary focus will be to develop fundraising opportunities that will support the work of World Outreach Ministry Foundation in all nations.
