Bangladesh

In October 2008, Shirley and I took an 18 member team into the forbidden mountains of Bangladesh. It is estimated over 550,000 people live here as they have for the past centuries with very little change.

We went with the goal to reach the unreached people of the 11 tribes of Mongolians who reside here, nestled away in these jungle type places and virtually unreached except for the past very few years.. These Mountains called the Chittagong Hill Tracts have harbored the strange rituals of a people without the knowledge of God. One of our evangelists was present during one of the tribes’ animal sacrifices, he then shared with the tribe the story of Jesus and His once and for all blood sacrifice. On this particular Evangelistic outreach, afforded by the giving of you who help us with the Bangladesh Operation, our team led to the Lord many of these unreached tribal members.

Please note the remarks of Pastor Lalchung, our local leader who himself is from one of those tribes. I received this data December 1, 2008. “All participants of the conference were anointed by the Holy Spirit and many people have received the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal Savior in this conference. The harvest is plentiful in that area. We need labors for the plentiful harvest in Hill Tracts. We extend our heartfelt thanks and gratitude to all dear friends in Jesus Christ who love and pray for the people of Hill Tracts.” Some who attempted to bring the gospel of Jesus to these tribes actually worked for as many as 50 years without a single conversion! Truly these are the days of supernatural harvest and for that we praise God.

Included in our 18 member team were the medical people headed up by our own Dr. Helen Laib from the Chicago area and included registered nurses, dentists, pharmacists and other medical workers including Dr. Brad Schmitz from Tacoma,WA. The evangelistic team was headed up by a great world evangelist, Pastor Dean Niforatos, together with his top man in SE Asia Pastor Bill Eng and others who joined our operation. During these days in Bangladesh we saw conversions and many people also received the baptism of the Holy Spirit, something these brave warriors for Jesus needed ever so much. You would have rejoiced to see their shining faces as they were experiencing this gift from God. Truly this is an incredible time in history as far as the gospel to the unreached is concerned.

Your gift will enable us to add to our fleet of tribal evangelists and step up our efforts as follows:

• Some children are uncared for and are now in our care; we need to do some
work to make the Boys Home as well as the Girls Home livable. We can do so
for only $1100!
• We need to increase our fleet of Tribal Evangelists; we can send and care for one missionary for $82.00 per month. We want to add to our team another six to add to the six we now have.
• We must help our six existing Tribal Evangelists by increasing them from $50.00 which is what we send now per month to $82.00 per month. So we need another $192.00 per month.
